Mexican-Inspired Wedding Decor at Villa La Mansion

One of the most distinctive elements of this Villa La Mansion wedding was its colorful Mexican-inspired design. Instead of a neutral destination wedding palette, the décor embraced bold color, traditional materials, tropical textures, and handcrafted details that felt connected to Mexico.

Vibrant orange flowers were used throughout the celebration, paired with white lilies, tropical greenery, and unexpected natural elements. The warm orange tones stood out beautifully against the green gardens and blue Pacific Ocean surrounding the villa.

Mexican Ceramics and Handcrafted Details

Blue-and-white Mexican ceramics added another layer of character to the design. Rows of hand-painted ceramic cups and decorative pieces introduced traditional patterns while keeping the overall look refined and intentional.

Terracotta tones, exposed brick, wood, ceramic vessels, tropical plants, and floral arrangements were mixed throughout the spaces, creating details that felt organic rather than overly formal.

A Colorful Mexican Wedding by the Ocean

What made the design especially interesting was the contrast between the Mexican-inspired décor and the coastal setting of Villa La Mansion. Bright orange florals and handcrafted ceramics were surrounded by tropical gardens, palm trees, and views of the Pacific Ocean.

The result was a destination wedding that didn't simply take place in Mexico — the design itself drew inspiration from Mexican color, craft, and visual traditions while still feeling modern and personal to the couple.

For couples dreaming of a destination wedding in Mexico surrounded by tropical scenery and the Pacific Ocean, Dreams Bahía Mita offers a beautiful setting just north of Puerto Vallarta. The resort combines contemporary architecture, lush surroundings, ocean views, and the convenience of having your celebration and your guests all in one destination.

This Dreams Bahia Mita wedding brought together everything we love about photographing destination celebrations in this part of Mexico: beautiful natural light, warm tropical surroundings, emotional moments, and a celebration that continued well into the evening.

A Destination Wedding at Dreams Bahía Mita

One of the advantages of getting married at Dreams Bahía Mita is the variety of environments available throughout the wedding day. Getting ready, portraits, ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception can all have their own visual identity without requiring the couple and their guests to travel between several locations.

The combination of modern resort architecture and the surrounding landscape also gives us plenty of variety when creating a wedding gallery, from intimate moments and editorial portraits to wide photographs that capture the destination itself.

Why Choose Dreams Bahía Mita for Your Wedding?

For destination couples, having accommodations and wedding celebrations in the same resort can make the experience considerably easier for guests traveling to Mexico. It also gives everyone more time together beyond the wedding day itself.

• Beautiful Pacific Ocean and tropical views
• Multiple settings for ceremonies and celebrations
• Accommodation for the couple and their guests in one location
• Modern architecture mixed with natural surroundings
• Beautiful locations for wedding portraits
• Easy to turn the wedding into a multi-day destination experience

Real Wedding at Dreams Bahía Mita

From the quieter moments while getting ready to the energy of the reception, this wedding was about much more than the location. Our goal was to document the atmosphere of the entire day while giving the couple space to actually experience it.

We combined candid storytelling with guided portraits, capturing the people, details, emotions, and scenery that made the celebration unique. The result is a gallery that tells the complete story while still taking advantage of the spectacular setting at Dreams Bahía Mita.

Wedding Photography at Dreams Bahía Mita

Photographing a wedding at a large destination resort requires understanding how the light and different locations change throughout the day. We plan portraits around the timeline rather than turning the wedding into a photoshoot, using the best available light while keeping the experience relaxed.

Golden hour is particularly beautiful in this part of the Riviera Nayarit, but some of our favorite photographs often happen outside the scheduled portrait time: reactions during the ceremony, guests enjoying cocktail hour, spontaneous moments between family and friends, and the energy of the dance floor.

Planning Your Dreams Bahía Mita Wedding

If you're planning a destination wedding here, leave some flexibility in your timeline. Tropical weather can change quickly, and allowing a little breathing room makes it much easier to take advantage of beautiful light without rushing through the day.

It's also worth thinking beyond the wedding itself. With many guests traveling to Mexico for several days, a welcome party, rehearsal dinner, beach gathering, or day-after celebration can turn the trip into a complete destination wedding experience.

As Puerto Vallarta wedding photographers, we've photographed celebrations throughout Puerto Vallarta, Punta Mita, and the Riviera Nayarit. Knowing the local light, weather, and rhythm of destination weddings helps us approach the day naturally while still creating polished, editorial portraits when the moment calls for them.

If you're considering Dreams Bahía Mita for your destination wedding, this gallery offers a glimpse of what a complete wedding story can look like at this beautiful corner of Mexico's Pacific coast.

Wedding at La Capella Puerto Vallarta: The Day in Photos

Ceremony setup on the terrace: Most couples choose the main terrace for their ceremony, with the church tower and ocean in the background. It is a beautiful, breezy setting that feels private yet open to the sky.

Sunset portraits around the venue: After the ceremony, we can capture sunset portraits on the terrace, on the charming staircase, or take a quick walk to the Malecón or the beach for a few romantic shots with the golden Puerto Vallarta light.

Dinner & first dance under the stars: As the sun sets, the venue’s warm string lights and live music create a cozy environment for your dinner and first dance under the stars, making your evening feel intimate and timeless in photos.

Photography Tips for Your La Capella Wedding

Best time for golden hour photos: Plan your ceremony about 60–90 minutes before sunset for the best golden hour light on the terrace. This allows you to enjoy soft, flattering lighting during your vows and portraits while keeping your timeline smooth for dinner afterward.

How to plan around the church bells: The church bells ring on the hour and during services, which adds charm but can be loud during your vows. If you are recording video or prefer a quieter moment, check the mass schedule or plan to pause briefly if the bells ring.

Recommended nearby photo spots (Malecón, hidden streets): The colorful streets behind the church, hidden stairways, and the Malecón offer iconic Puerto Vallarta backdrops just steps away. These locations are perfect for a quick couple session before or after your ceremony for variety in your gallery.

Planning Your Wedding at La Capella

Capacity and layout: La Capella’s terrace is ideal for intimate weddings, typically accommodating 20–80 guests depending on your layout. The terrace allows for a seamless flow from ceremony to dinner without requiring a venue change.

Weather considerations: Puerto Vallarta has a tropical climate. The best months for clear sunsets are November through May. If planning a summer wedding, prepare for humidity and occasional showers with a backup rain plan such as umbrellas or a nearby covered space.

Coordination tips: Work with a local planner to streamline communication with the restaurant and coordinate the timeline, musicians, and decor setup efficiently. A planner can help manage details so you can focus on enjoying your day while ensuring the flow of the ceremony and portraits aligns with the best lighting.
